8 Black Women Who Broke Barriers in Beauty
It’s Women’s History Month and with it being right on the heels of Black History Month—and because we’re all about beauty—we decided to pay homage to some amazing black women who redefined beauty.
From Madame C.J. Walker, who became the first female self-made millionaire, to Beverly Johnson, who became the first woman of color to appear on the cover of Vogue; black women have fearlessly fought and overcome the limitations placed on us by society with grace, excellence, and a whole lot of eyes watching.
Be it in film, modeling, business, or on the Miss America stage, we have had to create our own spaces in order to redefine society's ideas of what is beautiful.
Check out this video highlighting eight black women whose talents, intelligence, and innovation have changed the beauty game and broke major barriers while doing so.
